"Wattatata," to be released June
12th on California's Finger Records, is DEK's follow-up album
to 2004's "Boner". On the road to becoming groggy old
men, DEK seems to have finally found their sound, voice, and
entered a new era of maturity. Despite this, DEK hasn't lost
their unique image. Simply put, "Boner" was DEK on
quads and ludes, while "Wattatata" is a cuddly drunk.
Let DEK be your bipolar best friend.
Says some chick named Stephanie, "It's
more melodic, with longer guitar breakdowns and intros. But the
attitude is there, and the fury has tripled, and even though
the new songs are closer in heart to Anti-Flag than to the Descendants,
DEK are on their way to being one of the most respected punk
bands of our time. "
Don't worry, though. If you worshipped
"Boner" and it's teenage antics, "Wattatata"
won't disappoint. It's still the same old DEK you've come to
know and love.
